Portable toilets are an essential part of any construction site, even though they may not be the most glamorous part of construction. They are small plastic or metal booths that allow workers to use the washroom without resorting to using public facilities or other alternatives. Portable toilets protect workers from the elements and provide a clean, safe, and somewhat comfortable place for bathroom use.

Most construction sites should contact a vendor who can provide the portable toilets. In many cases, these toilets are rented by the month. If possible, you will want to find a vendor that offers cleaning services and sewage disposal services as well as maintenance services on the portable toilets.

It is important to place portable toilets properly. Your vendor or leaser may be able to help you with this. Portable toilets should be on flat ground for maximum stability. They should always be securely affixed so that they cannot easily be toppled over or stolen. Portable toilets should be placed in an out-of-the-way but still visible area. They should be far enough away from the site to provide privacy for workers but not so far that workers cannot be seen from the site.
